The arcs inside Alcobaça Monastery trying to reach for the skies.
The church and monastery were the first Gothic buildings in Portugal. Due to its artistic and historical importance, it was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1989.
This is also the burial place of king Peter I of Portugal and his mistress Inês de Castro, one of the most tragic love stories from Portugal history.
